Otdam.org is a platform where users can give away items for free, help animals find a new home, exchange things, and receive free samples. We strive to make the platform as safe as possible for everyone.

All listings on the site go through manual moderation before being published. Every free sample is also reviewed prior to posting. However, despite these checks, your attentiveness and adherence to basic safety rules remain very important.

If you want to receive an item for free:

  • carefully read the listing description;
  • check the photos;
  • clarify the item’s condition;
  • arrange handover in person;
  • choose busy public places for meetings;
  • do not make advance payments to a bank card.

If you are giving away an item:

  • honestly describe the item’s condition;
  • add real photos;
  • do not request payment;
  • agree on safe handover conditions.

Important! Do not send money in advance for “reservation”, “delivery”, or “processing” if the item is listed as free.

Pets to caring homes

Rehoming animals requires special responsibility.

If you are adopting a pet:

  • clarify its health condition;
  • ask about vaccinations;
  • learn about its temperament and living conditions;
  • arrange a personal meeting.

If you are rehoming a pet:

  • make sure the new owner is responsible;
  • do not hand over animals anonymously;
  • ask clarifying questions;
  • ensure a safe future for the animal.

Important! The priority is that the animal is safe, healthy, and placed in a caring home—not simply rehomed as quickly as possible.

Free samples

We do not ship or distribute samples. The website is solely a directory of information and links to samples that are submitted by users. We review publications before they are listed in order to reduce potential risks; however, we do not guarantee the safety, accuracy, availability, or terms of any offers on external websites.

We do not control and are not responsible for the content, actions, payments, delivery, or policies of third parties. Users independently add links to samples and independently decide whether to engage with them. We recommend additionally verifying the terms and reliability of any source before using any offers.

Before ordering samples:

  • carefully read the terms;
  • check for hidden fees;
  • pay attention to delivery costs, if applicable;
  • do not enter bank card details;
  • check whether the company has an official website or contact information;
