Hedgehogs, ferrets, and other unusual pets
This Cebu City category covers pets that don't fit anywhere else — from hedgehogs and ferrets to insects kept as a specialty hobby — and that's exactly why it's worth researching a species properly before committing, rather than assuming general pet-care advice will apply.
Exotic pets often need specific temperature ranges and diets that a standard pet store doesn't stock, so ask the current owner where they source food and equipment.
Some exotic species require a permit or are restricted in certain areas, so it's worth checking the legal side separately from the animal-care side.
Compatibility with other pets already in the house is worth thinking through too — not every small mammal or amphibian is safe around a curious cat or dog, so introductions should be slow and supervised.
