Aquarium fish for free Bavaria: usually with the whole tank
Fish are almost always given away together with the entire aquarium — that's the most common scenario, whether the owner is moving or simply losing interest in the hobby, not a sign that anything is wrong with the fish themselves. An established tank is worth more than an empty one: the bacterial balance in the water takes weeks to build, and starting fresh means going through that cycle all over again.
Ask the previous owner about water parameters and feeding schedule before taking the fish home — a sudden change in conditions is the most common cause of fish dying within the first few days in a new tank.
Compatibility matters if you're adding fish to a tank you already have — not every species gets along, and it's worth checking that before introducing anything new.
Filter and heater equipment is worth testing on the spot rather than assuming it works, since a failed filter is usually what causes trouble down the line, not the fish themselves.
