Why people rehome healthy, well-behaved pets
A pet ending up on a rehoming site rarely means something is wrong with the animal. Moving to a rental that doesn't allow pets, a new baby, a family member's allergy, or simply more hours at work than the pet deserves — these are the usual reasons, and they say nothing about the animal's temperament — a pattern that's just as true for Baden-Wuerttemberg Region owners as anywhere else.
6 ads, from purebred dogs to mixed-breed cats, and many of them are already vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and used to living indoors with people.
Before you agree to take a pet, ask the current owner about its daily routine, diet, and any habits that might surprise you in the first week — a cat used to free feeding won't adjust overnight to a strict schedule, and a dog walked twice a day will expect the same from you.
Owning any pet means an ongoing cost in food and veterinary care, so adopting for free only covers the starting point, not the years of responsibility that follow.
